How to Use a Fire Extinguisher

Remember the PASS Method:

  1. Pull the pin at the top to break the tamper seal.

  2. Aim the extinguisher low, pointing the nozzle at the base of the fire. Do not aim at the flames.

  3. Squeeze the handle to release the extinguishing agent.

  4. Squeeze the extinguisher from side to side, continuing to aim at the base of the fire until it appears to be out.
